Pakistan’s Neo News begins tests on Sky ahead of UK launch

Pakistan’s Neo Network is set to launch its Urdu news service, Neo News in the UK on the Sky platform.

The channel has started testing off the Sky EPG ahead of its UK launch. Interestingly, the label it is testing on is the old ‘Samaa’ channel, which ceased broadcasting in the UK earlier this year.

Neo News is governed and operated by the FUN infotainment Pvt. Ltd. Its a part of Nai Baat Media Network. It boasts of programmes like ‘Live with Nasrullah Malik’ and ‘Aaj Ayesha Ehtisham ke Saath’.

Currently, the tests are simulcasting the Pakistan transmission, with local adverts. For it to launch in the UK, it will have to comply with Ofcom regulations with a separate UK feed.
