The Pakistani state broadcaster, PTV’s financial woes are said to be contuning.

It was reported by The Express Tribune, the channel is facing a loss of Rs. 1.2 billion since 2013. The report adds that the broadcaster’s financial losses spiraled in 2013 – 2014, getting worse in 2015. Up until 2013, the channel was in profit by up to Rs. 219 million.

Pakistan’s Information & Broadcasting Division Secretary, Imran Gardezi was disappointed with the reported loss. He revealed that the broadcaster spends 70% on human resources, while only 30% of the budget is spent on programming.

Gardezi is concerned that the troubles could deepen further if the budgets on the channel are not spent correctly.
