The Pakistani state broadcaster, PTV’s financial woes are said to be contuning.
It was reported by The Express Tribune, the channel is facing a loss of Rs. 1.2 billion since 2013. The report adds that the broadcaster’s financial losses spiraled in 2013 – 2014, getting worse in 2015. Up until 2013, the channel was in profit by up to Rs. 219 million.
Pakistan’s Information & Broadcasting Division Secretary, Imran Gardezi was disappointed with the reported loss. He revealed that the broadcaster spends 70% on human resources, while only 30% of the budget is spent on programming.
