The Pakistani blockbuster movie ‘Na Maloom Afraad’ has bombed at the UK box office after it collected a measly 5,000 in its opening weekend (Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th May 2015).

The film, which stars Javed Sheikh, Fahad Mustafa and Mohsan Abbas Haider ran to packed cinema houses when it was released back home in Pakistan in October last year. ‘Na Maloom Afraad’ sits amongst the biggest ever Pakistani movies. It collected over Rs. 12 crore at the Pakistani box office. However, it has not been able to work the same magic in the UK.

According to Rentrak, ‘Na Maloom Afraad’ opened up at 7 different UK sites. It collected 5,377 over the first weekend of its release. The film, produced by Hum Films was distributed independently. This was Hum Films’ first production. Their next release will be ‘Bin Roye’ in mid-July.

In other UK cinema-related news, Bollywood film ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ proved the first choice with 174,938 from 59 sites, while Punjabi film ‘Oh Yaara Ainvayi Ainvayi Lut Gaya’ raked in 9,326 on five sites in the UK.
