Pakistan slams ban on Pakistani artists working in India

As the ban of Pakistani actors and actresses working in India continues, a member of the Pakistan government has slammed India for letting this continue.

According to New Indian Express, a spokesperson from the country’s Foreign Office revealed, “It is unfortunate that art and cinema, which bring people together by acting as cultural bridges, are being held hostage to hate and xenophobia.”

“Unfortunately this decision, following several others, including non-issuance of visas to Pakistani pilgrims, refusal to allow participation of Sikhs and Katas Raj pilgrims, and cancellation of sports matches, underscores the growing intolerance and bias prevalent in India,” they went on to add.

Though there has still been a few big names from Pakistan making an appearance on Indian screens, there has been much debate as to when the ban is going to be lifted. However, no decision has been made.
