Pakistan cricket board to launch TV channel

Following in the footsteps of the Indian cricket board’s (BCCI) idea of launching a TV channel soon, Pakistan’s cricket board (PCB) too is also toying with the concept of launching the same.

The board has hired ex-PTV hand Ather Waqar Azim to carry out its feasibility report on the plan.

According to a report appeared in the Pakistani daily The Nation, the need for the PCB to have its own channel was felt after the state run PTV (Pakistan Television) informed the organisation that it would not be able to telecast domestic cricket as there was no commercial interest in it.

According to the report, PCB’s channel will also telecast other sporting events.
