Pahlaj Nihalani offered bribes to pass films from Censor Board

Censor Board chief Pahlaj Nihalani said hat he has been offered bribe by many filmmakers to retain some scenes in their films.

Nihalani told PTI, “Yes, because people never leave their habits. They want to get away with the work by hook or crook. Somebody had offered me (bribe) also. But I can’t give names.”

He added, “They want to get away with the job, its nobody’s fault��_ Why blame babus, once we feel our work should be done we don’t mind paying money and get away��_ There are people who don’t have shame and do this.”

Censor Board chief has said that there is no corruption in the board and his staff in CNBC does not accept any gifts. He said, “Today I can tell you, my staff has refused even the Diwali gifts we get, I am proud of them. There is zero corruption in the board.”

Nihalani also spoke over censor board’s new term as ‘sanskari’ and said that he considers the title as an achievement. “I am working by the rule book, I am following that. It is my job��_ Whatever people call me, it is my achievement,” he said.
