Padmini Kolhapure to star in new Sony TV show

Ekta Kapoor hasn’t had much success to lure film actress Padmini Kolhapure to star in one of her dramas – until now!

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Ekta has finally managed to sign Padmini for a new show set for launch on Sony Entertainment Television Asia.

The yet untitled show is touted to be a psychological social drama and Padmini is slated to play mother to the leading lady.

Earlier Ekta had approached Padmini as a replacement for Smriti when she quit to play the character of Tulsi in ‘Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’.

Mumbai Mirror said Padmini confirmed that Ekta had spoken to her about the show and the role she is to play. She said, “There were talks with Ekta but she was travelling, so nothing has come through yet. We have so far had one round of talks. Ekta had personally spoken to me about this show. I have known Ekta since she was a kid. I am fine with family dramas if they have something interesting and different to offer. We have to see if things click.”
