‘Padmavati’ shoot put back for a week

After further vandalism on the sets of ‘Padmavati’ in Kolhapur earlier today, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali period drama ‘Padmavati’ is expected to resume shooting in the next week or so.

According to Times Of India, the damage by a deliberate fire on the sets of the film is said to be worth crores. Not only that, the report adds that a horse was also severely hurt in the fire. The film’s costumes worth around Rs. 2 lakh were completely destroyed in the vandalism.

One police inspector told the publication, “The area falls under our jurisdiction and we are investigating the case. The miscreants set fire to the costumes and also damaged vehicles belonging to the crew. Since the area is not inhabited, we can’t get information from the locals. Also, there has been no official complaint yet and the makers are contemplating whether to file one or not. We will decide on the further course of action after that.”

A huge segment of the film with around 600 people on set was going to be shot on Wednesday but was cancelled after the incident.
