Trouble surrounding the making of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next ‘Padmavati’ deepened last night after its set in Kolhapur was vandalised.
According to Deccan Chronicle, the incident occurred around 22:30 on 14th March. Rumours have also emerged that animals were present on the sets but this could not be confirmed at time of publication.
Other reports said that a group of up to 50 people attacked the set with petrol bombs and torches, heavily damaging the set. Police attended to the scene but are yet to find the culprits behind the incident.
The furore surrounding ‘Padmavati’ started a few weeks ago after the members of the Karni Sena from Rajasthan attacked Bhansali and his team after accusations were made of Queen Padmavati being shown in a negative light in the film.
