‘Padmavati’ not to release until screening to Rajasthan community

The turmoil surrounding Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next ‘Padmavati’ continues to take further twists and turns.

Just when one thought things had settled between Bhansali and the Rajasthan community, a minister from the state has asserted that the film will not release until its being shown to the Rajasthan community.

As cited in Deccan Chronicle, Energy Minister Pushpendra Singh said, “We will not allow the release of the film in Rajasthan till it is screened to our community members.”

‘Padmavati’ came under scrutiny recently after Karni Sena attacked Bhansali and his team for allegations of distortion of historical facts by the filmmaker.
