‘Padmavati’ insured for Rs 140 crore?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ still has no relief in India. The film is yet to be confirmed for release, and the distributors could see respite if it doesn’t release, as the film is reportedly insured for Rs 140 crore.

TOI reports that ‘Padmavati’ distributors “can claim about Rs 80 crore if the screening of the film is affected or if the audience is unable to access the theaters.” The film is also reportedly warranted in case of a “strike, riots, and weather related events after its release”. Although this will only be in effect if the film is not banned by the government.

‘Padmavati’ stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.
