Overnights: ZEE UK reports first BARB data

As revealed first on BizAsiaLive.com , ZEE Network UK has signed up to BARB and has reported its first official viewing data for ZEE TV, ZEE Cinema and ZEE Punjabi in its history.

It is worth noting that the three channels are still a part of the Sky Asia Pack, which will be dissolved next week. The changes, which come into effect from Tuesday 1st August will see all major Asian TV broadcasters move to Sky basic pack and should play a significant part in the network’s ratings. However, first data of ZEE TV, ZEE Cinema and ZEE Punjabi prove disappointing.

On Monday 24th July, ZEE TV’s top rated show was ‘Piyaa Albela’ with 10,600 viewers, followed by ‘Woh Apna Sa’ at 19:30 with 9,700 viewers. ‘Bin Kuch Kahe’ at 19:00 and ‘Zindagi Ki Mehek’ at 20:30 both rated 1,500 viewers each. Surprisingly, leading show in India ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ at 21:00 and its sister show ‘Kundali Bhagya’ at 21:30 rated zero.

ZEE Cinema’s telecast ‘Dil Maange More’ at 14:05 fetched 12,500 viewers, followed by ‘Prem Deewane’ at 10:35 with 4,000 viewers.

ZEE Punjabi reported zero rating all-day.

As BizAsiaLive.com reported, these numbers are preliminary until the Sky changes take place on Tuesday 1st August, which will see Sky customers having access to all ZEE Network channels. Currently they are encrypted to those that do not subscribe to the Sky Asia Pack.

Above data is overnight ratings supplied by Attentional – and may change slightly after consolidated figures become available in seven days from BARB.
