Overnights: ‘YRKKH’ tops; ‘IPKKND 3’ sinks in UK

Star Plus got itself a new leader in the form of ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ last night in UK, while the much hyped ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon – Season’ hit a record low, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

The longest running show on Indian television, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ delivered an impressive 101,300 viewers – peaking at 118,700 viewers. The show has been proving a huge hit for Star Plus UK in its new time slot of 18:30. In second place was ‘Saathiya’ at 19:00 with 91,900 viewers and ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ at 19:30 with 89,000 viewers. The two underperforming shows last night on Star Plus were surprisingly ‘Ishqbaaz’ with just 23,200 viewers at 21:30 and ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon – Season 3′, which got its worse ever ratings with just 43,400 viewers tuning in last night at 20:00.

Star Plus’ afternoon slot did well with ‘Meri Durga’ leading at 12:30 with 43,700 viewers, followed by ‘Ek Aastha Aisi Bhee’ at 13:30 with 29,500 viewers and ‘Tu Sooraj Mein Saanjh Piyaji’ at 13:00 with 23,400 viewers.

As Star Plus’ audience figures slipped further, Hum TV took a chance to overtake its old rival during the 19:00 – 23:00 prime-time schedule. Star Plus’ average audience between 19:00 – 23:00 was 51,000 viewers – peaking at 110,400 viewers, compared to Hum TV with 57,000 viewers average – peaking at 127,300 viewers. The biggest show on Hum TV last night was ‘Yaqeen Ka Safar’ at 20:00, which beat all competition in the 60-minute time slot with 91,200 viewers – peaking at 127,300 viewers, followed by ‘Sangsaar’ at 19:30 with 67,500 viewers and ‘Mohabbat Mushkil Hai’ at 19:00 with 57,800 viewers.

On Colors, ‘Dil Se Dil Tak’ at 21:00 fetched 12,900 viewers, followed by ‘Swabhimaan’ at 21:30 with 11,900 viewers.

On Rishtey, ‘Uttaran’ took lead with 20,400 viewers, followed by ‘Rangrasiya’ at 21:30 with 20,000 viewers and ‘Main Teri Parchai Hoon’ at 22:30 with 11,500 viewers.

On &TV, ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain’ at 20:30 was watched by 12,600 viewers, followed by ‘Agnifera’ at 19:00 with 9,300 viewers and ‘Santoshi Maa’ at 18:30 with 8,400 viewers.

On Geo TV, ‘Kabhi Socha Na Tha’ at 22:00 delivered 8,700 viewers.

On Urdu1, ‘Tum Kon Piya’ at 20:00 pulled in 3,900 viewers.
