'Yeh Khamoshiyan' end proves disapointing in ratings

The final episode of ‘Yeh Khamoshiyan’ on Star Plus proved a damp squib in the ratings last night, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

The Maha-Episode at 19:00 of the troubled show bowed out with just 72,800 viewers, with a further 19,400 viewers tuning in at 23:00 for the repeat. The show had been under the scanner for a number of weeks by the channel. It’s replacement ‘SaraswatiChandra’ produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali takes to the air this week in the vacant 19:30 slot.

Star Plus’ dependable ‘Nach Baliye 5’ continued to pull in the biggest viewership at the weekend across all Asian TV channels in the UK. The show registered a rating of 201,200 between 21:00 and 22:30. The ‘Parde Ke Peeche’ spin-off show at 22:30 generated 54,700 viewers ay 22:30.

‘Arjun’ in the 20:00 slot did well – pulling in 111,000 viewers in the 60-minute slot. It peaked to 160,300 viewers.

On Zing, the final omnibus edition of ‘Cloud 9’ raked in just 1,000 viewers between 17:30 and 20:00. It peaked to 11,400 viewers. The omnibus of ‘Cloud 9’ is being discontinued from March due to the low ratings on Saturday evening. It will be replaced with Bollywood magazine shows.

On UMP Movies, ‘Singh Is Kinng’ at 18:30 pulled in 18,700 viewers. However, the channel’s premiere of ‘Cocktail’ at 21:00 attracted 30,300 viewers.

‘Savdhaan India’ on Star Life Ok was easily the most watched show last night with 50,600 viewers between 22:00 and 23:00, followed by the omnibus of ‘Welcome’ wth 14,000 viewers.
