'Welcome' pulls in more viewers for Star Life Ok

Star Life Ok’s huge cookery reality TV show ‘Welcome Baazi Mehmaan Nawaazi ki’, the Indian version of British show ‘Come Dine With Me’, has witnessed a huge jump in its ratings.

According to exclusive UK viewing data for last night obtained by BizAsia from Attentional, ‘Welcome’ was by far the most watched show on the channel with a huge 65,600 – nearly twice the audience the show was receiving last week. The significant jump could be down to Star TV UK’s recent marketing campaign surrounding the show. It peaked further to 80,700 viewers later in the show.

‘Devon Ka Dev Mahadev’ at 19:30 and 20:00 was the second most watched show on the channel with an impressive 37,500 and 35,000 respectively.

‘Savdhaan India’ pulled in 30,000 viewers between 22:30 and 23:30.

On flagship channel, Star Plus, ‘Pyaar Ka Dard Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara’ was once again the most watched show last night at 22:00. It pulled 192,000 viewers. In second place was ‘Veera’ at 22:30 with 170,600 viewers. ‘Saathiya’ at 19:00 attracted 164,200 viewers. ‘Yeh Khamoshiyan’ at 19:30 was in fourth place with 148,300. ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ (136,800), ‘Kaali Ek Punaravtar’ (130,500,) ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (127,000) and ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (97,700) followed.

On Zing, local production ‘Cloud 9’ improved its performance slightly. While rating zero at 10:30, the 16:30 episode attracted just under 1,000 viewers. The 18:30 original telecast was viewed by 3,900 and the 22:30 showing was most watched with 12,500 viewers tuning in.

‘Ten On Ten’ on Zing at 19:00 was the most watched show with 24,500 viewers.

On Sony SAB, ‘Jeanie Aur Juju’ at 21:30 was the most watched show with 23,000.
