Overnights: Urdu1 surprises by beating Geo TV in 20:00 slot

In a surprise turn of events on Saturday night, recently launched Pakistani channel, Urdu1 Europe beat Geo TV in UK ratings in the 20:00 – 21:00 slot, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

‘Mehar Aur Meharban’, which airs on Urdu1 Europe at 20:00 on Saturdays pulled in 10,000 viewers – beating rivals Geo TV, A Plus Europe an See TV. Urdu1 Europe has had an uphill task to steal viewers from other channels and it seems like audiences have begun switching to Urdu1 Europe.

Geo TV’s biggest show of the night was ‘Tishnagi Dil Ki’ at 22:00 with 1,700 viewers and ‘Geo Khelo Pakistan’ at 19:30 with just 1,000 viewers.

Hum TV remained the first choice for Pakistani entertainment with ‘Mere Qatil Mere Dildar’ at 21:00 pulling in 27,300 viewers, followed by ‘Woh Aik Pal’ at 20:00 with 17,600 viewers.
