Overnights: ‘Sultan’ on Sony MAX annihilates ‘Raees’ on ZEE Cinema

Sony MAX remained ahead of its rival, ZEE Cinema in weekend ratings, with ‘Sultan’ proving a hit on Sunday in UK ratings, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

The Salman Khan wrestling drama beat Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ on the other side. What makes the data interesting is that ‘Sultan’ has been screened a number of times free-to-air on Sony SAB TV previously. This was the first time that ‘Sultan’ was aired on Sony MAX in HD since the channel joined the Sky bundle. ‘Sultan’ was watched by 19,800 viewers – peaking at 50,600 viewers. ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ at 15:23 raked in 6,600 viewers.

‘Raees’, which has not aired previously on free-to-air television, could only muster in 1,200 viewers at 18:00. In fact, ‘English Vinglish’ got a higher rating at 15:10 with 4,700 viewers and ‘Aitraaz’ at 21:00 pulling in 4,000 viewers.
