Overnights: ‘Stree’ premiere on Star Gold UK disappoints

The UK television premiere of horror-comedy, ‘Stree’ proved a disappointment in UK ratings on Sunday, BizAsiaLive.com can exclusively reveal.

The film starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, was broadcast on Star Gold at 21:00. It raked in just 6,100 viewers. It is worth noting that the low figure could also be down to an EPG error, which displayed the movie ‘Kaabil’ on the EPG rather than ‘Stree’.

The other premiere on Star TV, ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se’ on Star Plus at 13:00 also fared poorly with just 4,600 viewers. The film had premiered on Star Gold last week, which did better.

Star Gold was the most watched movie channel in the UK Asian TV market on Sunday with a share of 0.05%, followed by Sony MAX with 0.03%, ZEE Cinema with 0.02%, Rishtey Cineplex and B4U Movies with 0.01%.
