Overnights: Star Screen Awards reignites Star Plus at No.1 in UK

The telecast of this year’s Star Screen Awards proved a huge success on Star Plus UK on New Years Eve Monday, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com.

The star-studded event was watched by an average of over 80,000 viewers at 20:00 last night – peaking at 110,200 viewers. Star Screen Awards 2018 also gave Star Plus a huge boost in its share, which stood at 0.18%, nearly three four times as much than its nearest rival, Sony TV, which registered 0.05%, Hum TV with 0.04%, ZEE TV with 0.02% and Colors with just 0.01% share. New Vision TV was the biggest South Asian news broadcaster with a share of 0.06%.

On Sony TV, ‘Ladies Special’ at 21:30 attracted 29,100 viewers, followed by ‘Mere Sai’ at 19:00 with 17,600 viewers, ‘Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai’ at 19:30 with 16,000 viewers and ‘Indian Idol 10’ repeat at 15:00 with 14,700 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Mere Khwab Reza Reza’ at 21:00 attracted 30,800 viewers, followed by repeat of the show at 16:00 with 14,500 viewers and ‘Tere Janay Ke Baad’ at 14:00 with 7,500 viewers. ‘Aatish’ at 20:00 pulled in 7,300 viewers.

On ZEE TV, ‘Tujhse Hai Raabta’ at 19:00 fetched 32,000 viewers, followed by ‘Guddan’ at 18:30 with 28,400 viewers.

Colors struggled to garner much viewership during primetime, with repeat of ‘Roop’ at 16:00 pulling in 8,300 viewers and ‘Dastaan-e-Mohabbat’ at 18:00 with 5,500 viewers.
