Overnights: Star Plus tops; Hum TV eclipses Colors on Thursday in UK

Many primetime shows on Star Plus edged nearer the 200,000 mark, while Hum TV Europe got the better of Colors in UK Asian TV ratings last night.

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia, ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ was the most watched show in the UK with 192,000 viewers, followed by ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ with 183,200 viewers and ‘MasterChef India 4’ with 159,000 viewers. ‘Suhani Si Ek Ladki’ at 18:30 also continued to do well with 101,200 viewers.

On Colors, the biggest show was ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ at 19:30 with 72,300 viewers, followed by ‘Udaan’ with 39,200 viewers and ‘Ashoka’ with 31,000 viewers.

On Hum TV Europe, ‘Mehram’ at 20:00 beat opposition on Colors with 56,600 viewers, while ‘Badi Aapa’ at 21:00 also did very well with 91,500 viewers. It also did better than ‘Ashoka’ on Colors. Comparing the day’s average audience on Hum TV Europe, it stood at 15,700 viewers – peaking at 131,900 viewers, while Colors was behind with 12,200 viewers average – peaking at 79,700 viewers.

On Rishtey, ‘Meri Aashiqui’ was back on top with 79,900 viewers, followed by ‘Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha’ at 19:00 with 38,200 viewers and ‘Parichay’ in third with 33,300 viewers.

On Life Ok, ‘Savdhaan India’ remained top with 30,200 viewers, followed by ‘Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali’ at 19:30 with 30,100 viewers and ‘Mahakumbh’ at 20:00 with 20,100 viewers.

On Geo TV, ‘Saltant-E-Dil’ at 20:00 raked in 6,900 viewers – making it the most watched show on the channel.
