Overnights: Star Plus surges on Wednesday in UK; others sluggish

Despite the intense competition in the UK Asian TV market, Star Plus delivered one of its best shares this year so far, leaving rival channels sluggish, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

Star Plus’ biggest attractions on Wednesday were ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ at 19:30 with 127,100 viewers, followed by ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ at 18:30 with 113,300 viewers, ‘Mariam Khan’ at 19:00 with 110,500 viewers, ‘Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala’ at 20:30 with 92,700 viewers, ‘Krishna Chali London’ at 21:00 with 77,500 viewers and ‘Ishqbaaaz’ at 20:00 with 47,800 viewers. Earlier in the afternoon, it was repeats of ‘Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala’ at 16:30 and ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ at 17:00 pulled in 42,600 viewers and 38,700 viewers respectively.

Sony TV stayed high on the back of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ with 42,200 viewers at 21:00. However, its repeat from the night before at 17:15 also did well with 33,800 viewers. ‘Dil Hi Toh Hai’ was biggest fiction on the channel with 24,600 viewers and ‘Mere Sai’ at 19:00 with 11,700 viewers. New show ‘Maayke’ at 20:30 was watched by 10,600 viewers.

On ZEE TV, ‘Kundali Bhagya’ led with 18,800 viewers at 20:30, followed by ZEE News bulletin at 17:00 with 16,500 viewers and ‘Ishq Subhan Allah’ at 21:30 with 7,600 viewers.

On Colors, ‘Bepannaah’ at 21:30 led ratings with 11,300 viewers, followed by the repeat of the show at 18:30 with 6,100 viewers and ‘Silsila’ at 22:00 with 4,900 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Saanwri’ led ratings with 14,000 viewers, followed by ‘Aik Larki Aam Si’ 19:00 with 13,200 viewers and ‘Sadqay Tumharay’ at 21:00 with 8,500 viewers.
