Overnights: Star Plus slumps; Hum TV inches closer on New Years Day

Star Plus felt the pinch of Bank Holiday competition from movie channels on New Years Day, while Hum TV took the opportunity to inch closer, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

Star Plus’ share slumped to just 0.07% – one of the worst Monday shares ever for the channel. Hum TV was in second place with a share of 0.06%, along with B4U Movies and Geo News.

The biggest show on Star Plus on New Years Day was ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ at 19:30 with 73,800 viewers, followed by ‘Dil Sambhal Ja Zara’ at 22:00 with 38,100 viewers and ‘Tu Sooraj Mein Saanjh Piyaji’ at 19:00 with 36,200 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Gumrah’ delivered 42,200 viewers at 22:00, followed by ‘Diyar-e-Dil’ at 21:00 with 31,400 viewers and ‘Pagli’ at 20:00 with 23,800 viewers.

On Geo News, ‘Geo World News Headlines’ at 11:00 pulled in 34,300 viewers, followed by ‘Geo World News’ at 11:15 with 32,700 viewers and ‘Geo World News’ at 12:15 with 31,500 viewers.

Star Bharat was ahead of Sony Entertainment Television and ZEE TV. Its share stood at 0.03% with ‘Savdhaan India’ at 23:00 topping ratings with 22,600 viewers.

Colors also clocked up a share of 0.03% with ‘Bigg Boss 11’ reigning. It was watched by 51,500 viewers at 21:00, followed by ‘Tu Aashiqui’ at 20:30 with 14,500 viewers.

Sony Entertainment Television delivered a share of 0.02% with ‘Mere Sai’ at 19:30 pulling in 24,500 viewers, followed by ‘Super Dancer’ repeat at 18:30 with 8,400 viewers.

ZEE TV disappointed with a zero share. Its top show was ‘Piyaa Albela’ repeat at 14:30 with 1,700 viewers.
