Overnights: Star Plus ends 2017 on top

Star Plus ended 2017 as it started at the beginning of the year, on top of UK Asian TV ratings, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

The channel did better on New Years Eve – better than recent Sundays where it has been performing rather weaker than other days of the week. Star Plus registered a share of 0.10% with Star Screen Awards 2017 delivering 40,000 viewers at 20:30, followed by Red Carpet of the event at 20:00 with 23,200 viewers and ‘Meri Durga’ at 00:30 with 14,800 viewers. ‘TED Talks India’ at 19:00 pulled in 6,700 viewers.

Colors was next with a share of 0.06%. Its top rated show was ‘Bigg Boss 11’ at 21:00 with 66,700 viewers and ‘Entertainment Ki Raat’ at 22:30 with 17,300 viewers.

Hum TV was in third place with a share of 0.05%. Its top rated show was Hum Style Awards with 24,200 viewers, followed by ‘Tumhari Maryum’ at 20:00 with 11,500 viewers. Hum Masala was next with a share of 0.03% with ‘Lively Weekend’ at 20:00 raking in 13,600 viewers.

ZEE TV was placed next with a share of 0.03%. Its top show was ZEE Cine Awards 2018 at 16:30 with 16,000 viewers.

Sony Entertainment Television and Geo TV delivered a share of 0.01%.

Sony MAX was the biggest movie channel with ‘PK’ leading. It was watched by 5,900 viewers at 17:00.
