Overnights: ‘Soorma’ premiere disappoints on Sunday in UK

The premiere of ‘Soorma’ on Sony MAX proved disappointing in UK ratings on Sunday, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com.

The hockey-based drama based on the life of Sandeep Singh, stars Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu. It was aired twice on Sony MAX:

14:00 – 5,300 viewers
21:00 – 2,500 viewers

Other films performed better on UK Asian TV on Sunday, with ‘Golmaal Returns’ on Star Plus pulling in 14,200 viewers, followed by ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ on B4U Movies with 13,400 viewers and ‘Welcome 2 Karachi’ with 9,500 viewers on B4U Movies.

B4U Movies was overall the leading Hindi movie channel in UK ratings on Sunday with a share of 0.04%, followed by Sony MAX with 0.02%, ZEE Cinema with 0.01% and Rishtey Cineplex and Star Gold both registered a zero share.
