Overnights: Sony TV trounces ZEE TV in first UK data

The first UK ratings for the major Asian TV channels are in! For the first time BizAsiaLive.com can exclusively reveal viewing data for Star Plus, ZEE TV, Sony Entertainment Television and Colors in the UK.

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com , Star Plus remained the clear No.1 UK Asian TV channel, with Sony TV beating ZEE TV on Tuesday. These are the first ratings of the channels since they joined the Sky Original Pack, meaning they are now accessible to more viewers than previously.

Sony TV started off well in UK ratings with ‘Crime Patrol Dial 100’ at 23:00 attracting 6,400 viewers, followed by ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi’ at 21:30 with 4,100 viewers, ‘Crime Patrol Dial 100’ at 22:00 with 3,400 viewers and ‘Beyhadh’ at 21:00 with 3,100 viewers. Looking at the all-day share of the channel, Sony TV registered 0.02%.

ZEE TV’s primetime predominantly rated zero, with ZEE News at 17:30 being watched by 4,000 viewers. The channel’s all-day shared stood at 0.01%. Ratings for ZEE TV’s primetime was much lower yesterday than when it was reporting data over the past week whilst in the Sky Asia Pack.

Star Plus stayed strong despite competition from rival channels on Tuesday. Its top rated show last night was ‘Naamkarann’ at 21:00 with 58,200 viewers, followed by ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon – Season 3’ at 20:0 with 47,400 viewers and ‘Dhhai Kilo Prem’ at 13:00 with 45,900 viewers.

On Colors, ‘Swabhimaan’ at 21:30 attracted 20,500 viewers, followed by ‘Shakti’ at 20:00 with 19,400 viewers and ‘Dil Se Dil Tak’ at 21:00 with 14,700 viewers.

On Rishtey, ‘Balika Vadhu’ topped ratings with 45,100 viewers at 21:00, followed by ‘Kasam’ at 20:30 with 31,000 viewers and ‘Uttaran’ at 18:30 with 19,700 viewers.

On &TV, ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain’ at 20:30 attracted 10,000 viewers, followed by ‘Agnifera’ at 19:00 with 9,600 viewers and ‘Santoshi Maa’ at 18:30 with 5,900 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Mohabbat Khwab Safar’ at 22:00 fetched 49,400 viewers, followed by ‘Halki Si Khalish’ at 21:00 with 33,300 viewers and ‘Alif Allah Aur Insan’ at 20:00 with 40,700 viewers.

On Geo TV, ‘Bholi Bano’ at 21:00 pulled in 25,600 viewers, followed by ‘Tera Bina’ at 20:00 with 18,900 viewers.
