Overnights: Sony TV excels on Sunday; Star Plus slumps

Sony Entertainment Television grabbed the No.1 position in UK ratings on Sunday, with a huge surge in its share, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

The channel’s share was at a huge 0.18% – one of its highest ever shares since Sony TV signed up with BARB. It’s worth noting that, while other channels have resort to movies and events on their flagship services, it was regular programming that boosted Sony TV.

‘Indian Idol’ featuring guest Kamal Haasan got huge ratings with 51,700 viewers tuning in at 20:00 to watch the popular reality show. The repeat telecast of Saturday’s ‘Indian Idol’ also did well with 31,100 viewers tuning in at 18:30. ‘Crime Patrol’ at 23:30 was watched by 24,300 viewers and ‘Dus Ka Dum’ at 20:30 pulled in 18,500 viewers.

In second place, Star Bharat impressed with a share of 0.07%. ‘Savdhaan India’ pulled in 44,600 viewers at 23:00 and the earlier episode at 22:00 raked in 36,700 viewers.

Hum TV was at No.3 with a share of 0.06%. The channel’s top shows on Sunday were ‘Mr Shamim’ at 19:30 with 38,300 viewers and ‘Tonight With HSY’ with 28,700 viewers. ‘Ishq Tamasha’ pulled in 13,500 viewers.

ZEE TV fetched a share of 0.04% with ‘America’s Smartest Family’ pulling in 10,700 viewers, followed by repeat of ‘Gold Awards 2018’ pulling in 7,400 viewers and ‘Cheeni Kum’ movie with 7,200 viewers.

Colors attracted a share of 0.04% with ‘Dance Deewane’ being watched by 26,500 viewers.

Geo TV‘s share was at 0.03% with ‘Tohmat’ on top with 16,900 viewers and ‘Khalish’ with 14,800 viewers.

Star Plus‘ share slumped to 0.03% with ‘Qayamat Ki Raat’ pulling in 14,600 viewers and ‘Dil Hai Hindustani’ with 7,500 viewers.
