Overnights: Sony MAX emerges as No.1 Asian channel on Sunday

Star Plus was beaten in UK ratings on Sunday not only just by Colors but also movie channel, Sony MAX, which emerged as the top Asian TV channel, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

Sony MAX delivered a share of 0.10%, followed by Colors with 0.9% and Star Plus in third with 0.8%. Sony MAX surprised many with a fusion of the ongoing Pakistan V Sri Lanka cricket, movie premiere of ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ and the repeat telecast of ‘Azhar’, which did incredibly well.

The repeat telecast of ‘Azhar’ starring Emraan Hashmi was watched by 26,700 viewers, followed by the premiere of ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ at 21:00 with 17,800 viewers. Both movies peaked with 69,100 viewers. Cricket earlier in the day averaged with 7,200 viewers.

Sony MAX’s movie rivals could not match the success with Star Gold delivering a share of 0.5%, ZEE Cinema and Rishtey Cineplex with 0.3%.
