Overnights: Sluggish start for ‘Everest’ in UK

The much talked about new show ‘Everest’ helmed by filmmaker Ahutosh Gowariker proved a disappointment in the UK Asian TV ratings last night, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

The launch episode at 22:00 pulled in just 43,800 viewers – one of the lowest performing shows on Star Plus last night. It peaked to 67,000 viewers during the course of the show. It remains to be seen how well the show will bode with viewers, who up until now have been treated to family fiction ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ in the 22:00 slot.

The most watched show in the UK Asian TV ratings last night was ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ with 170,500 viewers, followed by ‘Saathiya’ with 131,000 viewers and ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ in third with 122,400 viewers at 19:30.

On Colors, ‘Bigg Boss 8’ was top with 98,400 viewers, followed by ‘BeIntehaa’ at 22:00 with 54,100 viewers and ‘Shastri Sisters’ in third with 49,800 viewers.

On Rishtey, ‘Laado’ at 21:00 got the biggest ever ratings with 110,700 viewers, followed by ‘Meri Aashiqui’ at 20:30 with 92,300 viewers and ‘Parichay’ at 20:00 with 83,100 viewers.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Laut Aao Trisha’ was top with 43,700 viewers, followed by ‘Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh’ at 21:30 with 36,300 viewers.

On Hum TV Europe, ‘Rishtey Kuch Adhooray Se’ at 21:00 was top with 21,800 viewers, followed by ‘Mere Meherbaan’ with 17,200 viewers.
