Overnights: ‘Shaurya’ on ZEE Cinema leads I-Day movies

Courtroom drama ‘Shaurya’ surprised by clinching the No.1 spot as the most watched movie on India’s Independence Day in UK ratings, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

The film starring Kay Kay Menon and Rahul Bose was aired on ZEE Cinema at 21:00, pulling in 20,100 viewers. As well as ‘Shaurya’, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rustom’ earlier at 18:00 raked in 16,000 viewers, giving ZEE Cinema a share of 0.07%. The channel led the Asian movie genre in the UK.

Star Gold was in second with a share of 0.04% with movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ attracting 15,900 viewers at 21:00.

Rishtey Cineplex was next also with a share of 0.04%. ‘Main Hoon Na’ at 17:00 was the channel’s biggest draw with 8,500 viewers.

Sony MAX raked in a share of 0.02% with ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ raking in 8,300 viewers at 20:00.

B4U Movies’ share was at 0.01%.

Outside the movie genre, ‘Karz’ on &TV did well with an audience of 17,800 viewers and ‘Udaan’ on Zing at 19:30 with 2,400 viewers.
