‘Savitri’ launch episode starts slow

Star Life Ok’s much publicised new show ‘Savitri’ has made a slow start on the channel last night, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

Data for Monday night shows that one-hour launch episode of the reincarnation drama ‘Savitri’ pulled in just 5,400 viewers at 20:30 – peaking at 18,700. The show is expected to rise in ratings over the next few days as the characters establish and storyline evolves.

The channel’s most watched show was ‘Savdhaan India’ with an impressive 50,000 at 22:30, this was followed by ‘Devon Ka Dev Mahadev’ at 20:00 with 43,000. The latest episode of ‘Welcome’ starring Rakhi Sawant as a special guest this week got 32,700. ‘Amrit Manthan’, which has been shifted from 20:30 to 19:30 got 21,000 viewers.

On market leader, Star Plus, ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ was once again on top of the channel with 199,200 viewers at 22:00. ‘Veera’ was a close second with 196,600 viewers. In third was ‘Saathiya’ with 174,400 viewers. The others on the channel were ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ at 21:30 (162,900), ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ at 20:30 (135,800), ‘Kaali Ek PunarAvtar’ with 129,900, ‘Yeh Khamoshiyan’ with 123,400 and ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ with 121,000 at 21:00.

On Rishtey, ‘Bairi Piya’ at 20:30 was the most watched show on the channel with 78,200 viewers. ‘Na Aana Is Desh Laado’ at 21:00 pulled in 68,900 viewers. The 20:00 show ‘Jeevan Saathi’ got 66,200. ‘Swarg’ impressed in the 18:30 slot with 60,200. New shows ‘Bhagyavidhaata’ at 18:00 got 11,200 viewers and the other one ‘Bandhan’ attracted 14,00 viewers at 19:00.

On Zing, ‘Two To Tango’ at 19:00 was the channel’s most watched show with 6,300 viewers. The local production ‘Cloud 9’ has failed to make any impact in the ratings since its launch six weeks ago. The show was rated zero in all four episodes yesterday.
