The declaration of love between lead characters Saras and Kumud have kept viewers gripped to Star Plus’ ‘SaraswatiChandra’, which helped it take the top position last night.

‘SaraswatiChandra’ at 19:30 was easily the most watched Asian show in the UK with 195,600 viewers tuning into see Kumud profess her love for Saras. The episode peaked at 236,600 viewers.

In second place was ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ with 188,700 viewers, followed by ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ with 175,600 viewers.

The others in the pecking order were ‘MasterChef India’ (171,500), ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (160,200), ‘Saathiya’ (151,300), ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (104,100), ‘Veera’ (89,800) and ‘Ek Ghar Banuanga’ (74,000).

On Rishtey, ‘Bairi Piya’ delivered another ratings high with 119,500 viewers – the biggest ever. ‘Na Aana Iss Desh Laado’ pulled in 105,300 viewers, followed by ‘Jeevan Saathi’ with 71,400 viewers.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Savdhaan India’ continued to lead the channel’s ratings with 56,200 viewers, followed by ‘Amrit Manthan’ with 27,900 viewers and ‘Savitri’ next with 7,000 viewers.

On Sony SAB TV, ‘Chidiyaghar’ proved its power again in the ratings with 97,000 viewers at 21:00, followed by ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ with 89,500 viewers and ‘Baal Veer’ in third with 66,600 viewers.

On Zing, ‘Bollywood Families’ at 17:30 got the most viewers on the channel with 11,800 viewers. ‘Cloud 9’ at 18:30 and 22:30 rated zero.

The two Indian Premier League matches on ITV4 yesterday got an average 120,000 viewers.

On UMP Movies, ‘Table No.21’ at 21:00 drew 11,700 viewers – peaking at 32,600 viewers.
