'MasterChef India' makes huge ratings splash in UK

Star Plus’ recent launches ‘SaraswatiChandra’ and ‘MasterChef India’ continued to dominate the ratings in the UK, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

‘SaraswatiChandra’ at 19:30 was the most watched Asian TV programme in the UK yesterday with 247,200 viewers – peaking at 268,900 viewers. The second episode of ‘MasterChef India’ meanwhile got an impressive 213,300 viewers at 20:00.

In third place was ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ with 193,400 viewers at 21:00, followed by ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ with 159,800 viewers. The others were ‘Saathiya’ with 149,100 viewers, ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ with 142,500, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ with 87,200 and ‘Veera’ with 60,200 viewers.

On Zing, ‘Two To Tango’ at 16:30 was most watched on the channel with 31,200 viewers. ‘Cloud 9’ was rated zero at 18:30 and 22:30.

On Rishtey, ‘Bairi Piya’ at 20:30 continued its good run with 71,800 viewers, followed by ‘Na Aana Iss Desh Laado’ at 21:00 with 47,300 viewers and ‘Jeevan Saathi’ at 20:00 with 45,200 viewers.

‘Jeanie Aur Juju’ on Sony SAB TV was the channel’s most watched show with 41,900 viewers, followed by ‘BaalVeer’ at 20:00 with 41,700 viewers. ‘Hum Aapke Hain In-laws’ garnered 31,300 viewers.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Devon Ka Dev Mahadev’ was back on top of the ratings with 32,700 viewers last night at 20:00. It was followed by ‘2612’ with 27,400 viewers and ‘Junoon’ with 23,700 viewers.
