Overnights: ‘SaraswastiChandra’ shoots back up in UK

‘SaraswastiChandra’ has managed to get back to similar ratings to when it first launched in the UK, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

The show, which has been under the scanner after low ratings in India, has been doing well in the UK and last night stomped out all the competition. ‘SaraswastiChandra’ pulled in an impressive 257,200 viewers – peaking at 308,000 viewers. In second place was ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ with 206,200 viewers and ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ in third with 203,200 viewers.

The others in the pecking order were ‘Saathiya’ (201,000), ‘Veera’ (196,200), ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (178,700), ‘Meri Bhabhi’ (171,500), ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (133,700) and ‘Ek Ghar Banaunga’ (92,600).

On Star Life Ok, the first episode of ‘Geet’ being re-run on the channel pulled in 3,100 viewers at 14:30, more than ‘Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon’ in Hindi at 14:00 with 3,000 viewers. The English version of the cult classic brought in 4,200 viewers. Meanwhile, ‘Savdhaan India’ was top with 19,300 viewers, followed by ‘Mahadev’ with 18,700 viewers and ‘Junoon’ at 21:30 in third with 17,500 viewers.

On Rishtey, ‘Na Aana Iss Desh Laado’ at 21:00 pulled in 101,500 viewers, followed by ‘Bairi Piya’ with 99,000 viewers and ‘Bani – Ishq Da Kalma’ next with 96,100 viewers. The first episode of ‘Mukti Bandhan’, which launched at 18:30 yesterday drew 31,800 viewers.

On Sony SAB TV, ‘Baal Veer’ was top with 66,100 viewers, followed by ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ with 62,900 viewers and ‘Chidiyaghar’ next with 21,900 viewers.
