In an eventful day of blockbuster movies and programming, Sunday sprung a surprise for many with movies on SAB TV and &TV bringing in record viewership.

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia, the premiere of film ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ on SAB TV took lead with a record 65,000 viewers at 21:00 – peaking at 107,700 viewers – one of the biggest ever ratings for the channel. The earlier telecast of the movie at 13:00 was watched by 10,800 viewers. The 90s hit movie ‘Karan Arjun’ shown at 15:30 attracted 14,900 viewers. It was generally a good day for SAB TV with primetime comedy shows also doing reasonably well with ‘Rukawat Ke Liye Khed Hai’ at 20:30 delivering 9,700 viewers and ‘Thoda Haso Thoda Phaso Sab Ka’ at 20:00 raking in 6,800 viewers.

On &TV, the movie ‘Entertainment’ starring Akshay Kumar, pulled in the biggest viewership for the channel since its launch last month. The film, which aired at 18:00 pulled in 57,200 viewers – peaking at 104,200 viewers. ‘Killerr Karaoke’ at 21:00 was watched by only 1,300 viewers and ‘Tujhse Naraaz Nahi Hai Zindagi’ at 22:00 delivered 1,200 viewers.

On Star Plus, the biggest show was ‘Nach Baliye 7’ at 20:00 with 99,300 viewers – peaking at 146,600 viewers, followed by ‘Gulmohar Grand’ at 22:00 with 24,400 viewers and movie premiere ‘Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami’ at 16:00 with 15,200 viewers.

On Colors, ‘India’s Got Talent’ topped ratings with 70,500 viewers at 21:00, followed by ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ at 22:30 with 20,000 viewers and ‘Desi Beat’ at 19:30 with 9,900 viewers. ‘Farah Ki Dawat’ at 20:00 could only muster in 8,400 viewers.

On Zing, ‘Harry Met Sally’ at 20:00 did well with 17,000 viewers, followed by movie ‘Josh’ starring Shah Rukh Khan with 6,900 viewers at 20:30 and ‘Spirits Of India’ at 19:00 with 6,200 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Mera Naseeb’ at 21:00 pulled in 28,600 viewers, followed by ‘Nikkah’ at 20:00 with 20,100 viewers and ‘Kitna Sataty Ho’ at 22:00 with 8,100 viewers.
