'Saathiya' tops Friday night ratings

The long running popular drama ‘Saathiya’ was the most watched Asian show on UK TV last night, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

The show was well ahead of all rival shows with an audience of 232,700 viewers at 19:00 – it peaked to 315,800 viewers. In second place was ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ with 195,200 viewers at 22:00, followed by ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ with one of the best ratings recently pulling in 179,300 viewers.

The others in the pecking order were ‘SaraswatiChandra’ (170,400), ‘MasterChef India’ (168,800), ‘Veera’ (145,200), ‘Ek Ghar Banuanga’ (121,200) and ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (119,900).

On Rishtey, ‘Bairi Piya’ returned to the top position with 69,200 viewers, followed by ‘Jeevan Saathi’ with 60,000 and ‘Bani – Ishq Da Kalma’ with 53,300 viewers.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Amrit Manthan’ took the lead with 22,700 viewers, followed by ‘Savdhaan India’ with 21,500 and ‘2613’ at 23:30 got 8,800 viewers.

On ITV4, there was around 193,800 viewers that watched the controversial team Rajasthan Royals play against Hyderabad. The matched peaked to 357,500. Earlier in the week, three of the Rajasthan Royals players were arrested for allegedly spot fixing games.
