Rishtey had a successful night in the UK Asian TV ratings yesterday after beating market leader Star Plus in two prominent slots.

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia, Rishtey’s ‘Bani – Ishq Da Kalma’ (19:30) and ‘Laagi Tujhse Lagan’ (20:30) managed to surpass the ratings on Star Plus for ‘SaraswatiChandra’ and ‘Mahabharat’, which air at the same time. However, the ratings were no bigger than usual for Rishtey, it was mainly down to the fact that the ratings of the two Star Plus shows had plummeted.

Star Plus’ ‘SaraswatiChandra’ was beaten by ‘Bani – Ishq Da Kalma’ for the second night on the trot with 63,300 viewers for ‘SaraswatiChandra’ and 83,300 viewers for the Rishtey drama. Similarly ‘Mahabharat’ had a bad night with just 76,500 viewers tuning in, however 92,800 viewers tuned into Rishtey.

The most watched show last night was ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ with 208,000 viewers at 21:00 on Star Plus, followed by ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ with 144,500 viewers and ‘Veera’ next with 122,80 viewers.

On Colors, ‘BeInethaa’ was a big success with 106,100 viewes tuning in at 21:00 – one of the biggest ever ratings for the show. ‘Rangrasiya’ was next with 92,400 viewers.

Above data is an overnight rating and may change slightly after consolidated figures become available in seven days from BARB.
