Colors Screen Awards big winner for Rishtey

Without its hugely popular show ‘Nach Baliye 5’ last night, Star Plus slid in the UK ratings and was overtaken by Star Gold and Rishtey.

According to exclusive UK viewing data obtained by BizAsia from Attentional, the telecast of the 19th Annual Colors Screen Awards on Rishtey UK free-to-air proved to be the runaway success for the channel. It pulled in one of the best audiences for the channel. The three-hour spectacular was viewed by 143,500 – peaking at an incredible 271,600 viewers.

Over the past few weeks, the weekend ratings have been dominated by Star Plus’ mega ratings winning show ‘Nach Baliye 5’. Rishtey had been settling for second place due to the intense competition from the dance show. However, last night the awards event has put Rishtey back in pole position but will it be able to maintain that in the coming weekends? Watch this space.

Elsewhere, Star Gold’s UK TV Premiere of ‘Son Of Sardar’ starring Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha was in second place. The film attracted 131,100 viewers – peaking at 258,400.

On Star Plus, ‘Arjun’ at 20:00 pulled in 66,100 viewers – peaking at 98,600. The Star Plus premiere of movie ‘Maakhi’ at 21:00 could only muster in 36,600 viewers.

Rishtey generally had a good night with its MTV India import ‘Unplugged’ at 17:30 garnering 7,800 – impressive for a show of its kind. The crime thriller show ‘Shaitaan’ at 22:00 also won the ratings battle for its slot with 40,500 viewers.
