Overnights: Rishtey Cineplex first UK ratings

Rishtey Cineplex has as expected made a slow start in UK ratings on the first day of its launch, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com.

The channel, which was added to the Sky EPG around 11:00, screened ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’, ‘Khiladi 786’ and ‘Golmaal 3’ between midday and midnight.

Going by the first lot of data, it was ‘Khiladi 786’ starring Akshay Kumar and Asin at 18:00, which topped ratings with 7,400 viewers, followed by ‘Main Hoon Na’ at midday with 5,000 viewers and ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’ at 15:00 with 4,200 viewers. Unfortunatley, the first prime time movie of the channel ‘Golmaal 3’ could only register around 1,000 viewers.

The ratings are bound to pick up in the days to come as the channel is added to other platforms including Freeview. Furthermore, parent company, Viacom18 is pumping in a whole heap of cash to market the channel across various mediums in the UK.

Rishtey Cineplex UK replaced UMP Movies on Sky channel 797 as the UK’s only free Bollywood movie channel.
