In a rare victory, Rishtey beat Star Plus in the 20:30 band for the first time with its show ‘Bairi Piya’, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

Data released today shows Rishtey’s ‘Bairi Piya’ beating ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ in the 20:30 slot with around 20,000 more viewers on Rishtey. ‘Bairi Piya’ attracted 122,600 viewers, whereas ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ had to settle with just 104,100 viewers.

Also on Rishtey, ‘Jeevan Saathi’ at 20:00 pulled in an impressive 94,800 viewers and was in second place, followed by ‘Na Aana Iss Desh Laado’ with 78,100 viewers.

On Star Plus, ‘SaraswatiChandra’ remained the market leader with 182,600 viewers – peaking at 231,800 viewers. In second place was ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ with 178,800 viewers and ‘Saathiya’ with 170,400 viewers in third.

The others in the pecking order were ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ (162,600), ‘MasterChef India’ (110,800), ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (104,100), ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (100,600), ‘Veera’ (99,700).

The latest two matches in the Indian Premier League on ITV4 averaged at 167.400 between 11:00 and 20:00. It peaked to 340,400 viewers.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Savdhaan India’ attracted 32,000 viewers at 22:30, followed by ‘2613’ repeat at 23:30 with 22,900 viewers. New show ‘Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai’ could only muster in 3,100 for its second episode.

On Sony SAB TV, ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ was top again with 64,200 viewers. ‘Hum Aap Ke Hain In-Laws’ was in second place with 38,300 viewers.

On Zing, ‘Cloud 9’ at 18:30 was rated zero but had some reprieve at 22:30 with around 5,000 viewers.
