Overnights: Repeat of awards show boosts Rishtey

The repeat telecast of the ‘People’s Choice Awards’ did well for Rishtey on Sunday night, according to exclusive UK viewing data obtained by BizAsia from Attentional.

The event, which was broadcast between 18:30 and 21:30 yesterday beat off competition from Star Plus in the first half of the show. It got an average audience of 87,800 – peaking at 134,400. Surprisingly, the show pulled in a bigger audience that it did when it was first aired in early December. At that time, it got an audience of 52,200.

Elsewhere on Rishtey, the newly launched MTV India show ‘Unplugged’ went up on last week’s audience. It averaged at 6,400 between 17:30 and 18:30 – peaking at a huge 28,400. Last week, the show launched with just 2,200.

Last night, Star Plus won the overall battle during peak time. The final 60-minutes Star Parivaar Live highlights package in ‘Starlite’ at 19:00 on Star Plus got the channel a huge 109,900 tuning in. The audience peaked further to 141,200.

The ever dependent drama ‘Arjun’ took a slight fall in the ratings on Sunday. The crime thriller series, which airs on weekends at 20:00 – performed well on Saturday with 98,000 tuning, however, on Sunday, it audience dipped to 48,900 – peaking at just 69,500.

The hit reality TV dance show ‘Nach Baliye 5’ continued doing well for the channel. An audience of 174,900 tuned in between 21:00 and 22:30 – peaking at massive 267,400 during the course of the show.
