'Pyar Ka Dard Hai...' tops Star Plus ratings

Star Plus once again came up trumps in the latest overnight viewing figures with drama ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara’ topping the charts as the most watched UK Asian TV drama.

According to exclusive UK viewing data for Monday night, obtained by BizAsia from Attentional, ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara’ got an audience of 223,200 between 22:00 and 22:30. ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ bounced back to two with 186,300 – peaking at 209,100. In third was ‘Saathiya’ between 19:00 and 19:30, which attracted 162,100 – peaking at 200,200.

‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ was in fourth – slightly behind ‘Saathiya’ with 162,000 – peaking at 209,400. ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ was next with 155,300.

The under performers on Star Plus on Monday night were ‘Yeh Khamoshiyan’ (137,00), ‘Veera’ (124,000) and ‘Kaali Ek PunarAvtar’ (118,800).

Across the other channels, Zing’s heavily promoted ‘Cloud 9’ drama touted as the UK’s first Asian TV drama produced locally got a zero rating. The ratings are still being verified and consolidated data will be published in seven days time.

On Rishtey, new drama ‘Jai Jag Janani Maa Durga’ at 19:30 opened with 20,100. The channel topper was ‘Na Aana Is Des Laado’ at 21:00 with 47,200. In second place was ‘Jeevan Saatthi’ with 48,400. It was followed by ‘Bairi Piya’ at 20:30 with 40,800.
