'Pyaar Ka Dard Hai' wedding tops UK ratings

The much talked about wedding this year on Indian television between Adi and Pankhudi attracted the biggest audience on UK Asian TV last night, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

The popular drama ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ at 22:00 on Star Plus, pulled in 203,400 viewers – peaking at 218,100 viewers – making it the most watched show on UK Asian television yesterday. This was followed by ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ with 161,700 viewers and ‘SaraswatiChandra’ in third with 148,700 viewers.

The others in the pecking order on Star Plus were ‘Mahabharat’ (126,900), ‘Veera’ (121,700), ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (119,000), ‘Saathiya’ (110,600), ‘Meri Bhabhi’ (96,500), ‘Ek Ghar Banaunga’ (66,300) and ‘Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon 2’ (35,500).

On sister channel, Star Life Ok, real-life issues in ‘Savdhaan India’ was watched by 44,200 viewers, followed by ‘Geet’ re-run with 11,500 viewers and ‘Gustakh Dil’ in third with 7,100 viewers. New drama ‘Tumhari Paakhi’ at 21:30 mustered in 5,400 viewers, while the one-hour episode of ‘Ek Boond Ishq’ at 20:30 got 2,300 viewers.

On Colors, ‘Bigg Boss 7’ continued to reign with 94,500 viewers, while drama ‘Uttaran’ got 31,100 viewers.

On Rishtey, ‘Parichay’ topped the ratings for the first time with 104,800 viewers, followed by ‘Laagi Tujhse Lagan’ with 103,100 viewers and ‘Bani – Ishq Da Kalma’ in third with 102,100 viewers.

On Sony SAB TV, ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ continued to stay on top with 57,800 viewers, followed by ‘Baal Veer’ with 25,900 viewers and ‘Chidiya Ghar’ in third with 10,500 viewers.
