The superhit drama ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ on Star Plus remained the UK’s most watched Asian TV show despite competition from other channels.

The drama, which airs at 22:00 pulled in 251,900 – peaking to 268,500 during the show, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

In second place was ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, which has slowly been climbing up the popularity chart in the UK. The show pulled in 230,500 at 21:30. In third was ‘Veera’, which airs at 22:30 with 188,100 viewers.

The others in the pecking order were ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ (185,400), ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (174,500), ‘Kaali Ek PunarAvtar’ (156,800), ‘Yeh Khamoshiyan’ (153,300) and ‘Saathiya’ (143,700).

Rishtey’s repeat telecast of blockbuster movie ‘Cocktail’ attracted 35,600 – peaking at 83,000 during the 21:30 – 00:30 broadcast last night.

Star Life Ok’s tweaked new primetime schedule is clicking well with viewers with ‘Amrit Manthan’, which has been shifted to 19:30 pulling in 33,000 viewers. ‘Mahadev’ at 20:00 garnering 38,900 viewers. The new show ‘Savitri’ getting a viewership of around 33,100 viewers at 20:30. ‘Welcome’ at 22:00 got 31,800 viewers. It was, however, ‘Savdhaan India’ at 22:30 topping the channel’s ratings with 44,100 viewers.
