The uncertainty surrounding the future of Star Plus’ hit show ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ was enough to get it a ratings push in the UK last night.

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia, the 500th episode of ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ pulled in 188,200 viewers at 22:00. Since earlier this week, social networking sites have been abuzz with rumours that the show could end.

Tweets from various crew members of the show have said that the show will be reaching a season finale on Wednesday 30th April. While the channel is keeping tightlipped on the changes, BizAsia can confirm that the show will NOT be going off-air. An official statement on the show’s future will be revealed within the next couple of days.

Speculation over the future of the show fuelled further after reports emerged that lead actress Disha Parmar was set to leave the show – again, no official confirmation has been reached.

Despite the good ratings for ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’, it was ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’, which remained the leading show in the UK. It raked in 212,000 viewers. In third place was ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ with 176,000 viewers and ‘SaraswatiChandra’ in fourth with 156,000 viewers.

On Colors, ‘Rangrasiya’ at 21:00 brought in 31,500 viewers, followed by ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ with 30,500 viewers at 23:00 and ‘Madhubala’ at 23:30 with 27,000 viewers.

On Rishtey, ‘Laagi Tujhse Lagan’ at 22:30 raked in 55,000 viewers and ‘Parichay’ got 52,000 viewers.

On Star Life Ok, ‘Welcome 2’ got 13,500 viewers at 22:00 and the re-run of ‘Geet’ at 14:30 mustered in 12,800 viewers.
