Star Plus’ hit drama ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ was the most watched Asian TV show in the UK last night, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

The drama at 22:00 pulled in 240,900 viewers – peaking at 303,200 viewers – easily the most watched Asian TV show in the UK yesterday. In second place was ‘SaraswatiChandra’ with 167,800 viewers, followed by ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ with 159,300 viewers.

The others in the pecking order were ‘MasterChef India’ (153,500), ‘Veera’ (152,300), ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (150,500). ‘Saathiya’ (130,400) and ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ (105.300).

‘Bairi Piya’ was the most watched show on Rishtey last night bringing in 96,800 viewers to the channel, followed by ‘Jeevan Saathi’ with 75,100 viewers and ‘Na Aana Iss Desh Laado’ with 69,400 viewers.

‘Junoon’ was the top show on Star Life Ok last night at 21:30 with 36,200, followed by ‘Amrit Manthan’ at 19:30 with 30,300 viewers.

On Sony SAB TV, Jeanie Aur Juju’ ruled the channel at 21:30 with 32,500 viewers.

On ITV4, the latest Indian Premier League match between Pune Warriors and Rajasthan Royals drew 228,800 viewers – peaking at 310,900 between 15:00 and 19:30.
