Overnights: PTC Punjabi leaps ahead of Star Plus & Hum TV on Friday in UK

In one of the biggest weeks for PTC Punjabi, the popular channel leapt ahead of market leader Star Plus and Hum TV in UK ratings on Friday – the third time this week, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com.

After taking the No.1 position on Sunday and Tuesday this week, PTC Punjabi delivered its biggest ever share on Friday. It gobbled up a record share of 0.20%, leaving Star Plus in second with 0.14% and Hum TV in third with 0.13%. Others in the pecking order were Sony Entertainment Television with 0.08%, Geo TV with 0.07%, Sony SAB TV with 0.06%, New Vision TV with 0.05%, ZEE TV with 0.03% and Colors with 0.02%.

PTC Punjabi’s strongest time band was between 18:00 – 21:00 with an average 30,900 viewers tuning in. Earlier its Gurbani slot between 15:00 – 18:00 also did well with an average 27,900 viewers switching on. The channel is expected to rise further in the coming days with the launch of popular reality show ‘Voice Of Punjab – Chhota Champ’ on Monday.

On Star Plus, ‘Ek Bhram’ got the biggest ratings of the series with 48,200 viewers at 18:30. It claimed the No.1 position on the channel for the first time. ‘Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala’ at 20:30 pulled in 41,200 viewers, followed by ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ at 19:30 with 40,400 viewers, ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ at 21:00 with 38,300 viewers, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ at 21:30 with 25,400 viewers and ‘Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji’ at 19:00 with 24,700 viewers.

On Hum TV, ‘Suno Chanda’ was the channel’s top show with 58,300 viewers at 21:30, followed by ‘Jaal’ at 22:45 with 41,800 viewers and ‘Iftaar Package’ at 21:00 with 35,600 viewers.

On Sony TV, ‘Crime Patrol’ delivered 37,300 viewers at 22:00, followed by ‘Patiala Babes’ at 21:00 with 26,100 viewers and ‘Mere Sai’ with 23,100 viewers.

On Geo TV, ‘Saiban’ at 22:30 led with 18,300 viewers, followed by ‘Ay Dil Tu Bata’ at 22:00 with 13,300 viewers and ‘Yaariyan’ at 20:00 with 13,100 viewers.
