Overnights: PSL 2017 final breaks Prime TV records

The culmination of this year’s Pakistan Super League proved a huge ratings winner for Prime TV yesterday, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

The final, which was won by Peshawar Zalmi, was watched by a huge 77,600 viewers from 15:00 on Prime TV, peaking to 128,000 viewers during the course of the five-hour telecast. It was the biggest ratings of the series and one of the biggest ever for Prime TV. While there was confusion initially over the UK telecast partner for the tournament, the ratings signify some sort of viewer loyalty to Prime TV. Most viewers preferred Prime TV’s coverage, who last year launched the series. The three other UK broadcasters showing PSL 2017, could not match the same success as Prime TV.

In comparison, PSL 2017 final on Geo TV fetched 15,000 viewers at the same time, while A Plus Europe attracted 10,500 viewers and Channel 44 managed to rake in 15,000 viewers.
