Overnights: Prime TV surges to No.2 in UK on Wednesday

Prime TV surged to the No.2 position in UK ratings on Wednesday, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

The channel, which has been on a ratings high owing to the success of its Pakistan Super League coverage, delivered a share of 0.14% – just slightly behind market leader, Star Plus, which registered 0.20%.

Prime TV’s coverage, which saw Quetta Gladiators beat Multan Sultans by two wickets, was watched by over 35,000 viewers – making it the biggest non-fiction show to air on UK Asian television on Wednesday. It peaked further to 64,500 viewers at around 18:15.

Hum Masala, which is the second UK broadcaster for the popular cricket tournament, delivered a share of 0.05%. Its coverage of the same match could only pull in 4,400 viewers at 15:30.

Star Plus remained the ultimate leader with ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ staying ahead. It was watched by 130,300 viewers at 19:30, followed by ‘Tu Sooraj Mein Saanjh Piyaji’ at 19:00 with 90,100 viewers and ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ at 18:00 with 60,900 viewers.
