Overnights: Prime TV bowls out Sony MAX with cricket coverage

Prime TV once again proved to the industry that it has become the destination for Pakistan cricket, after it beat Sony MAX with its Pakistan V Zimbabwe series, on Sunday, according to exclusive overnights data.

The current tournament, which is being aired on the two rival channels, put Prime TV on top with a share of 0.06%, while Sony MAX followed behind with 0.04%. In terms of the cricket telecast, Sony MAX raked in an average audience of 10,00 viewers between 08:00 and 16:30 – peaking at 19,300 viewers. Prime TV, on the other hand raked in an average of 15,000 viewers – peaking at 39,600 viewers.

Cricket coverage kept Sony MAX, with ‘Hickhi’ starring Rani Mukerji, watched by 2,700 viewers. Nevertheless, Sony MAX was the biggest Bollywood movie channel in the UK on Sunday, with rival channels rating much lower.
